I'm having an issue with my Excalibur Custom HSH. The high E string keeps slipping off the edge of the fretboard.

I own many guitars, including two other Vigiers, and I've never had this problem before.

The issue has been happening since I purchased the guitar new. At first I was able to ignore it, but now the problem is so annoying that it discourages me from wanting to play this guitar.

Is there any adjustment that can be done to mitigate the issue?

As mentioned in this thread, you can do the old strat trick of slightly shifting the neck in the pocket to align the high e further from the edge. The standard Vigier nut mounts on a post embedded in the neck that prevents it from being relocated as easily as a typical nut - But if your Custom is a Floyd model, you should be able to redrill the locking nut screw holes in order to shift it over slightly. If you're uncomfortable with such adjustments, any competent tech should be able to do it without flinching.

Thank you @marcwormjim. Similar to the other post, it seems that the frets were over-filed. They're noticeably sharper than my other Vigiers.

I'll take it to a tech and see what they say.

The guitar is great aside from this issue. Really hoping that I don't need a re-fret. Kind of an absurd problem to have with a new $3k+ guitar.

If the guitar is new, you cannot shift the neck.

Hi Patrice, do you have any advice on how to prevent the high E string from sliding off the edge of the fretboard?

It's a new Vigier Excalibur Custom with a Floyd Rose bridge if that helps.

Hello,
Please show it to the dealer or distributor. You can try to post a photo, but I'm afraid it wont help.

I live in the US, but I purchased the guitar from an overseas dealer on Reverb. So it's going to be difficult for me to take the guitar back to them.

I've attached two images, both of Vigier Excalibur necks. The light neck is the best neck I've ever played. The dark neck is the one I'm having issues with.

You can see from the ruler that there's much less space available on the dark neck for the string to move before it slides over the fret edge.

Are you able to make any recommendations based on these images?

Thanks!

1) I would check if the neck is not off the axe
2) It looks like the locking nut is not centered.
