What to say about Roger Glover?
As a passionate about Deep Purple since I'm adolescent, the band that
after so many years I still LOVE (I have too many records) I was very
lucky to meet him during the Perfect Stranger tour and that years after
years we could built a strong relationship.

Roger Glover
is one of the masters in music; he knows how to put a bass on music
with taste and efficiency. Of course everybody, when we talk about Deep
Purple, talk about Smoke on the water, which is reducing their music to
one song! This is ridiculous regarding how many original ideas they got
in their career. Anyway if we take this song as an example, when the
bass arrives in the song it is a kick in your but :=) It is simple but
so efficient, this is the difficulty in music! Bravo!

Not only a bass player or musician,
Roger Glover
is also a writer, not only a writer he is a producer and he produced
numbers of hits, not only a producer he is also a painter.
Roger Glover is simply a builder and a prolific artist.

The danger when you meet people that you love through an image is that
you can get sometime disappointed. It was not my case,
Roger Glover share with me what are some of the main important things in life, generosity, honesty and passion, he is a genuine person.

Roger Glover
is a true LOVER of music and is not making music for making business,
is it becoming rare? What is funny is that Deep Purple sold maybe over
100 millions records, which is good business :=)

I would recommend for you to listen two records (very different):

The Battle Rages On (Which I'm not sure is a good memory for the band but the album spirit is unique and from that aspect touches me)
Rapture Of The Deep
which is the last CD. It took me a while to get into it, but it is like
a good drug, more you take it more you want it, I love it.
Steve Morse
has improved his sound of guitars and I like it even better. When you
know how this record was done (one or few takes), you imagine the level
of the musicians!
If anybody has listen to the last Roger Glover CD Snapshot, let me know, I did not.

Finally if you want to get the big feeling; go and see Deep Purple on stage, the tandem Roger Glover / Ian Paice is a killer.

(Press release from Vigier home page)New Deep Purple DVDThe new Deep Purple DVD, "They all came down to Montreux", is the first to present the band performing live the tracks from their album "Rapture of the deep". It also contains all the classics you want to hear and a new exclusive song. Montreux has always been a favourite DP venue, and inspired the classic "Smoke on the water", the most famous guitar riff ever! Roger Glover was, as usual, playing Vigier basses. The Roger Glover Signature model, created in collaboration with Roger, is already very popular worldwide. The Montreux jazz festival was celebrating its 40th Birthday. Deep Purple have been rocking around for about 40 years too, and it seems like they're not about to stop. "They all came down to Montreux" Live 2006 is available through Eagle Vision.

Rapture of the deep is an excellent CD. The sound is good, mainly due to Steve Morse guitar sound improvement. When you know that they recorded everything with one or two takes.... it just shows the level they are at.
