When UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon visited
carried a letter about the imprisonment of Lapiro de Mbanga, and reportedly
asked President Biya to ?favourably consider? the case of the
singer. The
Richard Durbin has also put pressure on
Lapiro.

His case is clearly taken seriously and we hope it will lead to his freedom. He has been detained since April 9, 2008 in Cameroon, at New Bell prison "* on earth".
