What is this bass?! Serial 261

Yesterday I was blessed to acquire this weird and amazing Vigier bass guitar in its original case. The electronics are quite strange, it seems to have some kind of lowpass filter. No idea what the switches do. A search on Vigier website for the serial number next to the strap button “261” returns multiple model names. The seller said it was a 1991 passion bass and that he was the first owner.
I would really appreciate any clarification as to what this bass is and what is going on with the electronics.

Amazing bass. The fretwork is immaculate. It puts my Ken Smith to shame actually :O
Love the organisation of the big pickups really much too, its like a finger ramp

Hi,

it looks like it's a Series II Passion Bass. According to the serial number it's from 1986.

The rough specs would be:
- Neck: Carbon neckthrough
- PU´s: single coil Benedetis
- Electronic: 1x volume, 1x treble,1x Freq, 1x miniswitch (Freq cut,neutral,Freq boost), 1x PU Selector switch

Have fun, it's a great bass!

Thank you for posting those controls. I just purchased a 1987 P4II with the same controls and I was curious as to what the switches were.
