f***** electronics on 1984/5 Vigier Arpege 2 bass

Brought this baby out of retirement recently and is still beautiful.
However, there seems to be a distortion/buzzing problem that's developed when connected through the active cercuitry. I can only play it now direct through the jack input on the face of ther body.
Is it possible to have the electronics replaced on this old beast?
