Vigier Guitars

Gary Moore (Robert William Gary Moore) est un guitariste et chanteur britannique  (nord irlandais), né le 4 avril 1952 à Belfast.

La virtuosité de son jeu en fait un des meilleurs de son style. Il utilise souvent des sons saturés qui s'apparentent au hard rock, mais ses inspirations rythmiques et mélodiques sont directement issues du blues.

Sa carrière démarre au début des 1970 où il participe notamment aux groupes Skid Row et Colosseum II, puis il joue à plusieurs reprises mais épisodiquement avec le groupe Thin Lizzy, de 1974 à 1983. Le chanteur et bassiste du groupe, Phil Lynott, participa d'ailleurs en 1979 à son deuxième album solo, Back on the Streets, et est l'auteur du titre Parisienne Walkways, le plus grand succès commercial de Gary Moore avec Still got the Blues (paru en 1990).

Gary Moore est également le 1^er à chanter le Over the hills and far away  repris ensuite par Nightwish et Thyrfing.

Depuis 1973, il produit régulièrement des albums solo, sous son nom ou sous l'étiquette de groupes de circonstance : « Gary Moore Band », « G-Force », « BBM » (pour Bruce-Baker-Moore), etc.

Dans les années 1970 il mêlait assez également hard rock et blues rock, et participa à quelques autres expériences, notamment de jazz rock (ou « jazz fusion ») avec Colosseum. La décennie suivante son style dominant fut le hard rock, jusqu'à l'album After The War en 1989. Depuis l'album Still Got The Blues  en 1990, son style est essentiellement orienté vers le blues et le blues rock, même s'il lui arrive encore de produire des titres plus proche du hard rock.
