Hi All,

I'd very much appreciate any information if anyone has a GV model for sale. Perhaps, you may know of a dealer in France that has one ins stock.

Best Regards,

Several UK dealers have various G.V.'s in stock, give them a try, as some might be at the old price (Vigier prices increased July this year).

Thanks for that. i've been looking around the dealers and noticed the price increase.

I'm noticing big increases in prices from all the major brands that are distorting the market with gimmicks like relic finishes and 'true historic' re-issues of 1950's desings. As far as I'm concerned, the G and F brands are dead in the water. They trade on image rather than well made instruments that are fit for the 21st Century.

I used to work as a salesman/tech in a guitar store and over the years have noticed how the big brands will stifle any real progress in instrument design. Ken Parker and Ned Steinberger amongst others will attest to that. Back in the late 80's our shop stocked Vigier Basses and Guitars. The construction quality, feel and sound of these instruments was at that time, very much superior to the US Brands. Alas, Guitarists listen with their eyes and have in mind resale values when buying an instrument. Such is the power of Mass Marketing.

All these years later, has anything changed?

Best Regards,

Allan

Unfortunately there will always be guitarists that buy with their eyes, that will never change…fortunately those that actually care about the build/sound of their instruments will seek out quality.
