Re: Last order?

I haven’t seen any statements officially addressing it on this level, but it’s been circulating as an open secret since the dealers were supposedly notified a few months ago.  Similarly to you, I would have ordered one, had I known before the cut-off date. It is what it is. If you’re based in the UK...

Thank you. Your guitars have spoiled me; and I keep returning to Vigier after finding there are simply no substitutes.

Bump. Still looking for one in the US. I ultimately missed out on Rock Art #77 after mulling it over for months; and have been waiting for another to pop up.

Re: Treble Bleed for Excalibur Ultra Blues and Tone Pot Question

Hi and thanks for your reply. Does the change from the 1Meg Pot to the 500k Pot alter the sound? If yes, how much?  Did you solve with your mods the uneven response of the Tone Pot? Kind regards As I said, each person will prefer something different. I feel the 1Meg pots are good for approximating ...

Re: Treble Bleed for Excalibur Ultra Blues and Tone Pot Question

Any Input is highly appreciated - thanks in advance! Best regards Filipe Hi, Filipe. I’ve found that I prefer a 500k linear taper volume with 680pF/150k treble bleed connected in the modern way to a 250k audio taper tone pot in which the cap values vary quite a bit from one guitar to another. I’ve ...

Re: New Shawn Lane Master

Just out of curiosity, were the zero frets that you were replacing made from stainless steel + hardened (as per the current zero fret specs)? Yes. Both of my SLs happened to be 2012s (built following the switch to stainless frets and the flex retainers, but prior to the switch to Neutrik jacks). Th...

Re: New Shawn Lane Master

Have you noticed any wear on the zero fret? I did play a new one in the shop and noticed that the high E string section of the zero fret has a divot. Is this intended (i.e., from factory)? Cheers As someone who’s owned two SLs between 2012 and the present, I can say that the Vigier zero frets wear ...

Re: New Shawn Lane Sig owner, praises and questions!

With any other guitar, you could just shift the nut over a little bit. But Vigier installs a post for the nut to sit on, for the sake of both consistent installation on the production line and ease of replaceability. So you may have to tweak the neck in the pocket as you would with any other strat (...

Re: Changing vol/tone pots on Vigier Shawn Lane

HI, I have the same needs ! I want to replace the 1M pots by 500k because even after changing pickups the sound is too harsh for my taste, do you know wich reference of 500k pot would be suitable for the shawnlane for plug and play please ? If I recall: CTS, full size, solid shaft, logarithmic tape...

Re: SL model - tone control issue

The sweep/contour of the tone control is personal preference, and the SL is a unique beast (weak pickups, plinky strings if you have the action as low as Shawn preferred, 1 Meg pots, etc.). Just swap in different components until you find what you like.

Re: Possible Shawn Lane pickup change

My 2012 SL had rectangular tabs with three holes affixed to the Dimarzio mounting tabs. If yours is the same, they can be simply transplanted to whatever new pickups you try out (depending on the tab of the new pickup). Note that the plates are threaded for the screws currently in use; and using dif...

I saw the first reply - I was just hoping someone with the factory action measurements would respond once it became more clear what you were asking. Honestly, whatever adjustments feel comfortable for you is what is “correct.”

Re: Bridge height on Vigier special

Are you trying to say you raised the height of the 2011 trem by turning the two pivot point screws at the front of the bridge to the left, rather than adjusting the height of individual saddles?

Re: Need help restoring a Vigier Custom to its full glory!!

1. You likely have a grounding issue, rather than a shielding issue. Make sure all groundings and their solder joints are secure. They’re a crapshoot to diagnose over a messageboard, but a soldering iron or any competent tech can correct this. Even if the issue comes down to some short or mechanical...

Re: Changing vol/tone pots on Vigier Shawn Lane

Remember that you can also modify the taper and behavior of the stock pots through experimenting with treble bleed values, 50s wiring, etc. - Unless you’re specifically wanting to avoid modifying from stock unless necessary.

Re: Changing vol/tone pots on Vigier Shawn Lane

It’s only an upgrade if you know you prefer 500k pots - No pros or cons. It seems many SL owners find the Air Classic and 1M volume pot to be too far from their personal tastes; so replacing the pickups and pots seems to be a common mod. If you find yourself preferring the sound of a different super...

Order through a Vigier dealer. If you’re based in the US, use this page: http://www.vigierguitars.com/vigier-dealers/
You can also email the distribution manager for your continent via the main site concerning availability and pricing.

Re: Used Vigier

I’m afraid the best place to find an Excalibur for that price is in 2019 or earlier. With Reverb having increased fees and enforced tax collection, and COVID messing with import/export worldwide, it’s no surprise that current prices are what they are. Just keep saving money and perusing the usual si...

It reads as though you either received an incorrect replacement (with radiused segments rather than the flat one for the SL model) or the segments aren‘t seating properly.
