Congrats on getting an SL. As someone who has owned (and extensively modified) the Natural and Master models, please feel free to discuss any aspect of the guitar and I’ll likely respond.

The sweep/contour of the tone control is personal preference, and the SL is a unique beast (weak pickups, plinky strings if you have the action as low as Shawn preferred, 1 Meg pots, etc.). Just swap in different components until you find what you like.

Remember that you can also modify the taper and behavior of the stock pots through experimenting with treble bleed values, 50s wiring, etc. - Unless you’re specifically wanting to avoid modifying from stock unless necessary.

It reads as though you either received an incorrect replacement (with radiused segments rather than the flat one for the SL model) or the segments aren‘t seating properly.
